Passport photo size in pixels - resize your photo exactly
Passport, visa and immigration portals are strict about photos: exact pixel dimensions and a maximum file size, and the upload is rejected if either is wrong. This page opens our Compress Picture tool. Type the exact width and height in pixels from your application, set the maximum KB or MB, and download a photo that matches both. The presets cover common starting points like 600x600 - but treat them as starting points only and always follow the official numbers in your own application, because requirements differ by country and program.
How to do it
- Add your photo (JPG, PNG or WebP).
- Type the exact pixels and the max KB or MB from your application.
- Choose fit or crop-to-fill, then click Compress Picture and download.
Common questions
What pixel size is a passport photo?
It depends on the country and the application. Common digital sizes include 600x600 pixels and 35x45 mm at 300 DPI (about 413x531 pixels). Always use the exact numbers your own application lists.
My portal gives a maximum KB as well. Can I set both?
Yes. Type the exact pixels and the maximum KB or MB at the top of the tool, and it fits the photo to both.
Should I choose fit or crop to fill?
If the portal measures exact dimensions, crop-to-fill guarantees the output is exactly that size. Fit keeps your whole photo visible inside the box, which can leave the final size slightly different in one dimension.
