How to merge PDF files into one
Merging is the fix whenever life hands you a document in pieces: a contract in three scans, certificates saved one per file, a form plus its attachments. Portals, employers and teachers almost always want one file, in the right order. A good merge should be lossless - pages copied exactly, nothing re-rendered or blurred - which is how our Merge PDF tool works.
Before you merge, a minute of tidying pays off. Rotate sideways pages upright, delete blank scanner pages, and name your files in order (01, 02, 03) so arranging them is drag-and-drop instead of guesswork. If the combined file then passes a portal size cap, compress the merged PDF to the exact target afterwards.
How to do it
- Gather the PDFs and fix sideways or blank pages first.
- Open Merge PDF and add the files.
- Drag them into the order you want.
- Click Merge and download the combined PDF.
- If it is over a size cap, run it through Compress PDF with that exact target.
Common questions
Does merging reduce quality?
Not here. Pages are copied losslessly into the new file, so text and scans stay exactly as they were.
How many files can I merge?
There is no coded limit - the practical limit is your device's memory. Everyday documents merge easily; hundreds of pages are smoother on a computer.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Merging happens in your browser.
